These items you see here were given to me by a member of the Shakii race. They live on the planet Monai, far in the future. They love to travel through time and meet members of other civilizations that no longer exist in their time. This is how I met Canacaa.
One day she just stepped out of my full length mirror and, well, after a while we got to know each other and we exchanged information about our planets and cultures. She explained that her planet is still very lush and green and marveled at our concrete roadways. I also learned from her than our people are generally taller than the people on her planet, who usually are lucky to reach a hieght of 4 feet 8 inches. But although they're shorter they're very slender. The colors of the Shakii's eyes are unusual, being metallic in nature - either gold or silverish generally. And, like Canacaa, all her race has shiny black hair.
After this exchange of information we each gave the other a token of friendship. I gave Canacaa a very special necklace I had made and she gave me these earrings. She explained that the vine pattern in gold represented the lushness of her planet's vegetation and the richness of their resources while the orange, white, and black of the beads tells of the colors of their world - the orange earth, the brightness of their white sun and the darkess of the night.
When it was time for her to go, Canacaa said she might visit again but not how soon. Then she stepped back through the mirror and disappeared. I hope to meet her again someday and learn even more from her.
This is entered in 's Extraterrestrial contest.
A pair of earrings with a vine-like twisting to them and plastic marble beads.
These were in a bag of jewelry that was stolen but I have more of the beads, thankfully, so I can make another pair once I get new pliers.

As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
